We are proud to announce that Jennifer Heinz has been named Capstone Hospice’s Employee of the Quarter.
Jennifer is an Atlanta native. She graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and then pursued her Master of Divinity at McAfee School of Theology. During that time, Jennifer did chaplain training through Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with residency placement at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Jerusalem House.
After graduating from theology school, Jennifer joined the staff of Brookhaven Christian Church, where she served in various ministerial roles for the next 18 years, including the last five years as senior minister.
In April of 2018, Jennifer signed up to volunteer with Capstone Hospice. During volunteer training, Jennifer fell in love with the mission of Capstone but never became a volunteer. Instead, Jennifer was hired as Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator and started full-time with Capstone in August 2018.
Jennifer has two children and a dog who keep her very busy. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, boot camp, easy zen-like kayaking, and drinking wine with friends.
“What I love most about Capstone Hospice is working with an amazing team of people who see their work as their calling and who are devoted to the mission of providing great care, peace, and comfort to our patients and their families,” Jennifer says.
