This April, Capstone Hospice is honored to recognize Nissy Kurian-Shajan, LCSW, as our Hero of the Month. Nissy, a devoted Medical Social Worker, has dedicated her career to providing compassionate care in hospice, a field she believes is not just her profession but her calling.
Nissy’s journey in hospice care is deeply rooted in her faith and personal convictions. She views her role as a ministry, a vital service where she is destined to make a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families during their most challenging times. Her commitment to providing care that goes beyond physical needs, addressing the emotional and spiritual well-being of those she serves, truly defines her as a caregiver.
At Capstone, Nissy finds a profound alignment between her personal mission and the organization’s vision and values. Outside of her professional life, Nissy is deeply committed to her family and community. She enjoys spending quality time with her family (and bossing her boys around 🤣), managing a busy household, and engaging actively in her church. Nissy also loves hosting and feeding family and friends, finding joy in the fellowship and community it brings.
