This July, Capstone Hospice proudly celebrates Sarah Thomas as our Hero of the Month. Sarah’s journey into hospice care is guided by her deep belief that every individual deserves dignity, compassion, and peace at the end of life.
After spending many years in the hospital setting helping patients fight illness, Sarah found her true calling in hospice. In this environment, she’s able to shift the focus from curative treatment to comfort, prioritizing the wishes and needs of the patient above all else. For Sarah, hospice is not just healthcare—it’s heart-centered, patient-driven care that brings a sense of calm and closure to families during their most tender moments.
Sarah is especially drawn to the culture at Capstone, which she describes as truly special. She values being part of a workplace that honors and uplifts its employees, knowing that this support translates directly into the high-quality, compassionate care delivered to patients and their loved ones. In her eyes, it’s this culture of respect and kindness that sets Capstone apart.
Outside of work, Sarah finds joy in a variety of fulfilling activities. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, immersing herself in audiobooks and podcasts, and exploring her creative side through crafts. A passionate traveler, she’s always ready for a new adventure. She’s also a dedicated Girl Scout leader, proudly heading into her 11th year leading her daughter’s troop—a role that speaks volumes about her commitment to mentorship and community.
