This month, Capstone Hospice proudly recognizes Tamika Nichols as our Hero of the Month. Tamika’s compassionate heart and dedication to patient-centered care make her a valued member of the Capstone team and a source of comfort for the patients and families she serves.
Tamika was drawn to hospice work because of the meaningful connections it creates with patients during one of the most important moments of life. She believes hospice care offers the opportunity for profound and compassionate interactions that bring comfort, dignity, and understanding to individuals and their loved ones. For Tamika, being able to walk alongside patients and families during this time provides a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment.
One of the things Tamika appreciates most about working at Capstone is the supportive and collaborative culture among the staff. She values the way colleagues genuinely care for one another and work together as a team. That shared sense of compassion and encouragement creates an environment where everyone can do their best work while supporting each other along the way.
Outside of work, Tamika enjoys spending meaningful time with her family. These moments of connection and laughter allow her to recharge and bring the same warmth and compassion back to the patients she cares for each day.
For her charitable donation, Tamika has chosen the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to supporting patients, funding research, and working toward a future without cancer.
